Preface

The title mimics that of the book by Richard Henry Dana, “Two Years Before the Mast: A Sailor's Life at Sea”. The book detailed his two years spent as a seaman on sailing vessels in the early 1800’s. It dealt with the harsh life endured by sailors of that time, seemingly little more than indentured servants once signing on to serve aboard a sailing ship.

But my title refers not to a Mast, but Masks. There are many types of Masks for many different purposes. An oxygen Mask is worn by a Fire Fighter entering a burning building or a forest fire. A ski Mask may be worn to protect the skin while skiing in cold, wintry conditions. A baseball catcher’s Mask protects the player from suffering injury from a speeding fastball. Ancient Greek theater performers held Masks in front of their face to simulate the persona of the character being depicted.
 

The Masks named so far can be utilized for protection – but those same Masks can be used in concert with unlawful or illegal behavior. The oxygen Mask can be worn by a protester, seeking protection from Police tear gas during a riotous protest. A ski Mask handily protects the wearer from being identified during an armed robbery or murder. A catcher’s Mask may be worn by rioters wanting to avoid a policeman’s baton seeking contact with the rioter’s head. The Greek actor’s Mask might be replaced with one from an infamous movie, such as those slasher movies from Hollywood.

The most common Mask I refer to, however, is one of concealment and deception. It is the one carried on the face of a person of considerable influence or political power, using their very countenance to hide what they are seeking by a particular agenda. They appear before cameras in their own face but Mask their intentions by the age-old habit of humans telling lies.

It is this Mask of Deception that I refer to in this two-year diary of events in our local, State and National Governments. A person of influence, be they a news anchor or a politician, may easily don a Mask of deception when telling lies about what they do, or telling lies about what other people do.

The writings included in this publication are mine; looking at Political events happening in 2018 and 2019. My reference to Masks is those worn by those with a political agenda. The agenda I discuss is totally that espoused by a Left-wing movement in America, primarily an attempt by the Democrat Party and a sycophant, propagandist media, to overthrow the President of the United States with made up charges and imagined law-breaking.

The lust for power and control of America’s citizenry is so advanced that nothing short of assassination may satisfy them. All of the articles written within this two-year time span thus rips the Masks off those with evil intent and mindless, corrupt lust for power. 

As the Mask worn in the opera, Phantom of the Opera, is ripped away by the heroine, revealing the ugly, twisted and deformed face of its wearer, I too rip away that Mask of Communists and Dictators, cleverly camouflaging their designs in displays of ‘compassion’, ‘caring’ and Social Justice’.

When they stand in front of the news cameras and with straight faces, spout lies and innuendos, they Mask their designs, putting forth propaganda meant to be heard, seen and absorbed by the mindless, willfully misinformed public that allow those wearing the Masks to do their thinking for them. 

It is when the American voter does not seek Truth that the wearers of the Mask become successful in their deception. That will destroy our Nation, moving us to Socialism, a Mask for Communism, a Mask for Dictatorship. Just consider how effective the deception is. A criminal Secretary of State runs for President in 2016 – and wins the Popular Vote!

The Electoral College gives victory to another so the Left launches, even before that President is sworn into office, a pedal-to-metal itinerary to upend those election results.

The fact that Hillary Clinton won the 2016 Popular Vote indicates how many Americans were fooled by and failed to look behind the Mask of Deception. By this practice the nation is doomed.

My words are only are a warning. You are invited along to witness what I record so that you may draw your own conclusions. Don’t look for me to be an apologist here. Unless mentally impaired people have the ability to discern right from wrong. I openly attack those who employ wrong for their own personal agenda.

What follows is two years of commentary as I observe what is happening in America and the dangers of what I see. Essays and Political Cartoons from 2018 and then 2019 will be on these pages. I humbly follow the path of those Giants of History whose names are easily recognized by scholars worldwide. Don’t look for my name to be among them. 

I am a realist – something of a disappearing breed amongst our American Culture. Those of my ilk are called “Conservatives” – being forced into oblivion by the myriad of voices coming from behind the Masks. With vigor I will detail how to tear the Mask away from the Pretender – revealing in nearly every instance – a Democrat – a harbinger of evil and destruction behind this innocuous label. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, forums such as Snapchat, Facebook, Tinder, Twitter and the like; allow Americans to also function from behind a Mask, often portrayed by ‘virtue signaling’ for one cause or another. Not good for humanity, I’d say.
 

Here is why I gather this data:

Liken this to an analogy. A police officer pulls over a driver for running a stop sign. At that point the officer is only aware of that infraction in assessing the type of person he or she is dealing with. 

When the officer retrieves the Driver’s license the license will be run through the Police data base. It is there the officer may learn of past incarcerations for felonies, misdemeanors and outstanding warrants. When the data base reveals a long list of crimes and warrants against that driver the entire picture is fleshed out. Instead of assessing the driver for running a stop sign, the data base tells it all because information has been collected and stored.

This is the gist of my Political Diary. When assessing the actions in Government and Politics, this two-year collection is a data base of fleshing out the bad people in Government and the Media. When you roll out the complete information it can be seen as cumulative – showing in reality what we are dealing with when it comes to politicians and the leftwing propaganda arms kowtowing to their agenda.

The agenda is not good but destructive.

Looking at this book in its entirety fills in the long rap sheet telling the truth about Liberalism. Liberalism is used by the Democrat Party, actually a Party seeking Socialism, leading to Communism, leading to Dictatorship.

If you look at the History of the World in its entirety the same revelations come to the forefront. And as once said in a newspaper cartoon, Pogo; “We have met the enemy and he is us”.

How did we best learn of Empires and Civilizations that have come and gone? Someone decided to record History, etching it on a stone tablet, marking a sheet of papyrus making symbols on a monument. I do the same.
