Chapter 1
Opposing Ideologies
Abraham Lincoln at the 1858 Illinois Republican Convention: “A house divided cannot stand”
Will we remain Capitalist or will we enter into Socialism? The Electoral College will determine our direction in November of 2020 – barring any illegality on part of the Left-wing states, even now conspiring to keep one candidate off the Presidential ballot, purely in an illegal and unconstitutional way.
It must be impressed upon the reader early on that Socialism is not the end to the means, but a means to the end. To identify it more correctly, it is not Socialism, but Communism. Communism is not the end to the means, but a means to the end. The real goal of Communism is actually a Dictatorship. Study any totally Socialist nation today and you will find them ruled by a Dictator.
In any War, a uniform identifying the enemy was crucial in making sure you did not kill somebody on your side. In the Civil War not all wore Confederate Grey for the South, but it was the recognized Confederate uniform. For the Union, the color was blue.
For the War that might come in a few short years, the Left has easily identified the enemy, those of European ancestry, namely, White People. From a hundred yards this characteristic reveals the opposition. The Left plans to fill its ranks with People of Color, in an all-out assault to go from equal opportunity to the false promise of equal outcomes.
Capitalism in America has resulted in the U.S. being the wealthiest nation in the world. The concept incorporates the idea that each individual is necessarily responsible for his or her survival - using skills and abilities to provide sustenance for themselves – seeking financial gain to maintain a household, a lifestyle and a family, if that is one's pursuit. But Capitalism does not limit the individual to only sustenance, instead, freely allowing that individual to build an enterprise that can become large; producing a great amount of capital, or wealth.
Socialism calls for the individual surrendering many of the economic and Constitutional freedoms to those administering what we do, how we live, our health care, our education and our own self-determination - those impaneled by Government to make those decisions for us.
Socialism is replete with failure every time it is enacted. Many advocates for Socialism point to small European countries as examples of Socialism's success, like Denmark, Norway and Sweden. These countries, however, are not Socialist but Capitalist countries, that have extremely high taxation in order to pay for a myriad of Government services.
I must define the ideologies to which I refer. Historians know the issue of Slavery was not the single reason for upset among the mid-19thCentury Southern States, but still the most relevant. Today the ideologies are Conservatism, or Capitalism, versus Socialism, or Communism. The two sides have drawn lines and let the propaganda, censorship and falsehoods begin.
The differences above cannot be reduced to just two identifiers. Both ideologies have large laundry lists of cultural variations that fall under each philosophy. Capitalism carries with it a history of how America has functioned since gaining nationhood; its religious, familial, educational and moral underpinnings. But with each philosophy comes a litany of cultural beliefs and desires of what those voting in our country demand as a way of being governed. Calling it Capitalism versus Socialism will not flesh out the DNA of each. Each camp has many, many issues that would necessarily be addressed via each form of Government.
For those on the Right, the idea is to keep and embrace the system that has proven so successful for American prosperity, namely, Capitalism. Along with that is a host of decades-long traditions and heritage that has also been a mainstay of our Culture; traditional marriage, heterosexuality, merit-based pay, practicing religion, strong law enforcement, 2ndAmendment Rights, a strong military, maintaining our Constitutional Rights and Laws, opposition to open borders, a limited Government, having limits on human behavior in the arena of decency; a belief in hard work being the essential ingredient to subsisting and surviving – all things Conservative.
For the Left, the ideology is nearly a polar opposite; wanting cradle to grave sustenance provided by Government, an open approach to abortion up to and even after birth, negating religion, a re-establishment of racial segregation (this time against the White Race), eliminating law enforcement at the local and national levels - and in issues of illegal immigration, in essence, open borders - illegal immigrants being granted Government benefits following the granting of Citizenship, the tearing down of Capitalism, Slave reparations, special treatments in the law and in society for “People of Color”, same-sex marriage, sexual identity as determined by one’s imagination, free health care, free college, guaranteed income, college debt forgiveness, gun confiscation, stacking the Supreme Court, elimination of the Electoral College, placing Presidential ballot requirements outside the Constitution and of course, raising taxes and adding programs and regulations to expand Government – all things Liberal.
I ask the reader to now stop and reread the previous two paragraphs. Because those are the issues that are dividing the nation and propelling people away from verbal disagreements toward verbal arguments, then toward violence in the form of assault and property damage. How each side presents and advocates for actions meant to foster their will upon the other will spur this into confrontation with fists, knives, clubs, guns – and then, armed mobs.
Selling Socialism is merely a tool. The ad campaign is Emotional, not rational. The promise of the Left is, “anything goes, whatever you desire we will give you”. The end goal is total Governmental control. The fact that some or many people will die for each philosophy is of no concern to power seekers.
An entire grievance industry has developed against those wanting to adhere to the Conservatism they had inherited from childhood. A huge majority of the media was in the courtroom for Liberalism. Just the words are illustrative of each philosophy; conservatism means to act cautiously and be prudent with your money and personal life.
Liberalism means 'anything goes', and if a 35-year-old man wants to marry his 10-year-old daughter and you disagree, well then, there's something wrong with you. If you believe that life is created at inception in a woman's womb, you are opposed to 'women's health'.
For each and every belief, be it Capitalism/Conservatism, or Socialism/Communism, a host of those spouting a narrative can be found in print, the media and electronic information delivery.
Leading up to the attack on Fort Sumter, what did the Southern newspapers, politicians and people on the street, say in words of warning to fellow Southerners preceding Lincoln's election? What is being said today by the opponents to Capitalism in order to stir their followers, not only to political activism, but violence – just as some did before the Civil War?
Southern plantation owners feared Abraham Lincoln's election meant a death knell to the riches acquired by their agricultural way of life via the use of humans forced into slave-labor. A majority of those fighting for the South owned no Slaves yet saw the North threatening their State’s Rights.
Those espousing for maintaining a Capitalist nation today fear Socialism will chip away at every prosperity that our Constitution allows, dropping us all into boxes of 'equality' that diminish human spirit and enterprise. In the modern battles of today, leaders, educators and media know that Socialism is destructive, but that is not how they are presenting it – with their followers necessarily lending an ear to only one side of the argument and completely dismissing history.
In another ironic aspect, the very political system that has made the United States the wealthiest and most advanced in areas of medicine, agriculture and industry, is exactly what the Left wishes to replace. This points to two overriding elements in order to have so many demanding such change; a predominately Leftist informational academy in the form of entertainment, politicians and the media enjoying nine out of ten informational sources pushing that agenda – and, at least half the electorate who willingly accept what they are told without seeking the truth or accessing empirical evidence or the facts revealed by history.
The firing on Fort Sumter in 1861 was the opening salvo in the War Between the States. Other, smaller skirmishes, however, had taken place prior to cannons erupting on April 12th of that year. With that the bloodiest cost to Americans came over the next four years, with a death toll estimated at over 600,000. Many factors led to that conflict; the most salient being the issue of Slavery. At that time the North and the South were primarily of two different economies – the North, largely agricultural and industrial, being against Slavery, and the South, being largely agricultural, wanting and needing Slavery.
In a remarkable contrast, the 1st Civil War ended Slavery in America and freed all African-Americans or Slaves from other regions of the world having had the misfortune of being swept up in the Slave trade. In the coming 2nd Civil War, African-Americans, along with all other People of Color, will necessarily seek to wipe out all of the White people of European heritage – because the Left has painted a huge target on their backs.
If the Left prevails, if White Leftists can cajole People of Color to overwhelm the White Race via War, those very same People of Color will be reintroduced to Slavery via a Dictatorship – because History indicates this over and over. Any White person in power will then be targeted by those very same People of Color – until all Whites are eradicated. Just think of South Africa.
As I write this, on June 13, 2019, there is a report of Blacks rioting the night before in Memphis, Tennessee. Why? Because an armed Black man, wanted for attempted murder, rammed a Police vehicle, was emerging from his vehicle and was killed by Police.
The Mantra being produced today is that People of Color are all victims and Whites are the problem. The Left is stirring up all People of Color and importing millions more from across our Southern Border, all the while telling us it is all about compassion. On the same day I write this there is a report of White San Francisco Police suing the city because they claim discrimination in promotions.
In the present time, the idea of another American Civil War is becoming increasingly possible. The ideologies this time, however, are not separated definitively by geographical borders, such as the Mason-Dixon Line. Still, some semblance of geography comes into play as the ideologies are promulgated by population centers versus less urban areas.
Can it happen again? Can American people pick up weapons against one another a second time? It is definitely possible and as the events prior to the attack on Fort Sumter showed, some skirmishes have already erupted in our United States of America. Here I will contrast and compare some of the signposts and activities that will show how alike the conflicts are; how the ideologies professed have changed but the tactics of conflict have not.
As I have expressed repeatedly in recent years; technology changes – human behavior does not. Predictions are all too easy to make if you study the patterns existing since Cain slew Abel – want, desire, lust for power and greed, are ingrained in the DNA of some humans since recorded history began.
The prospect for armed conflict between Americans is something I do not at all relish, but I cannot change human behavior. The same desires that compelled some of the most evil actors throughout history is now displayed by the charlatans advocating for a world of candy and unicorns – yet secretly seeking their own enshrinement in seats of total control and dictatorship.
Who will die for those pushing for Dictatorial rule? Certainly not those desiring a pedestal from which they will wield absolute power over the land and people.
Connecting the Dots
In the 1st Civil War the South revolted against the Union in order to preserve their way of life via agriculture.
In the 2nd Civil War the Left is revolting against Capitalism in order to rearrange America as a Socialist/Communist nation.
