I enjoyed our conversation the day we rode together. I was intrigued by your fledgling knowledge of politics. During that conversation you mentioned someone suggesting to you that money that was “not needed” or “not used” by the rich, be taken from them and given to the needy.
Let me elaborate on that suggestion based on what I had heard on the radio one day.
Imagine you have two schoolmates. One of them does his homework, gets his assignments done on time, reads the study material and will graduate with straight A’s.
The other schoolmate goofs off, turning in assignments late, not reading the material or not getting his homework done. As a result, his grade average is F and he will not graduate.
Ask your straight A friend is he would be willing to give up two of his grade averages and donate them to the failing student. This would move two of his grade points to the failing student, moving that student from an F to a C. It would move the straight A student to a C average after donating his A and B to the F student. Both students would end up with a C average.
How willing do you believe the straight A student would be to do that – in other words – give up what he had worked hard for and give it to the other student who was unwilling to put in the effort to succeed?
Now ask your straight A student what he would think if he was not allowed to keep his A and B. He doesn’t need them to graduate; he’s not going to use them; so, the people in charge of things say he must hand over two of his grade levels.
This is in fact, reality. It is done by the Federal Government through laws that confiscate money from those paying taxes and gives it to people who are “needy”. This is achieved by passing Tax Laws that take money from a person’s paycheck to pay for all the spending programs put into law by Government.
As of right now, there are more than 80 Federal Welfare Programs.
What I spoke about above is being done now in some school systems. In some districts, a Black or Latino student can pass a grade without passing the tests given to move up a class. They are advanced based on their skin color.
These are two glaring examples of Liberalism versus Conservatism. Conservatives believe in working for your own life’s achievements. Liberals are just fine taking something from someone else to benefit themselves.
Most professional athletes and Hollywood people are Liberal. They criticize Conservative people like the Koch Brothers, whose wealth has allowed them to contribute millions to build hospitals and support medical research. While a few athletes and Hollywood people do this, the majority run out and buy a 40-room mansion as soon as they hit the bigtime – with ten bathrooms, an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis court and a Lamborghini in the driveway.
While wealthy Conservatives are always called names, the wealthy in sports and Hollywood do next to nothing with the millions they “don’t need” or “don’t use”. Yet, they are not criticized.
What are some of the results of Liberalism?
In the early 1960’s, the rate of divorce and children born to a single parent ran almost neck and neck among Whites and Blacks. There was little difference in the rate of divorce or the birth of illegitimate children between Whites and Blacks.
But today, 70% of Black children are born to a single Mom. Why is that? Why do so many Black children have a Mom but not a Dad?
In 1965, Government (controlled by Democrats), passed the giant Welfare Laws that demand so much taxpayer money today. What it resulted in was a single parent being given money for each child born outside of marriage.
Government took over the role of Father, allowing millions of deadbeat Dads to abandon the child they helped create. This is why we have the expression, “Baby Mama”.
A single Mom with two children can get rent support, job services, a free phone, food stamps and cash for each child she raises. Should she meet a fellow and become pregnant again, it represents a pay raise – paid by the taxpayers as a reward for a poor decision. The Father can just skip out and leave it up to the taxpayers to cover the cost of the child’s upbringing.
If you also research what a family living within the “poverty rate” today enjoy; microwaves, big screen TV’s, cell phones, game boxes, washer-dryers and automobiles, many of those receiving money from Government (your Mom’s and Dad’s taxes), are not truly “needy”.
Only the process every four years of people wanting to run for political office promising more and more payouts to the people – IF you mark your voting ballot for the one promising you the most. And every election cycle we hear of the poor and suffering in America.
America was founded on and succeeded based on the individual being responsible for making their own way through life. Once you open a “Program” to hand out money, the original list of 100 thousand needing this new benefit, magically becomes 100 million.
More of this will be evident once you enter the working world when taxes represent Government taking your money and giving it to someone else. This does not mean necessary spending, like keeping the military in good condition, keeping our nation’s roads and bridges in good condition, etc. is not vital.
The Democrat political platform is no different than it was in the 1960’s; vote for us and we will take money the rich “don’t use” or “don’t need” and hand it to you.
The Democrats never change. They use other people’s money to show how generous they are. If you are a failing student, vote for us and you will graduate!
Good luck in all your future years in America – for as long as Conservatism still has a voice.
